With the view to developing and promoting ever less invasive techniques for the treatment of vascular disorders, in 1996 ab medica created an endovascular department. Since then it has been a partner in territorial training and dissemination of new techniques for the treatment of valvular, structural and vascular disorders.
Endovascular treatment is used in two main settings: cardiac and peripheral. The innovative Magellan technology is used in both settings: Magellan is an avant-garde robotic system which is currently the only navigation solution for endovascular procedures.
Thanks to robotic control of the catheters, complex procedures and tortuous anatomy can now be approached simply and effectively, shortening the duration of procedures, to the advantage of both the patient and the operator.
The Magellan system ensures that the area to be treated is reached and guarantees the success of the procedure, while decreasing trauma to the vessel.
