Following a long experience in Bosa Elettromedicali, the company which, in the 1960s and 1970s, introduced the most important technologies allowing the birth and growth of heart surgery in Italy, Aldo Cerruti founded ab medica in 1984.
A great lover of racing cars, supermotard and golf, over more than 20 years he has consolidated the company’s image both nationally and internationally thanks to continuous collaboration with the world’s most prestigious companies in the most advanced sectors of medicine. In 1999 he introduced robotic surgery into Italy with the da Vinci robot and, in 2003, stereotactic surgery with the CyberKnife System, the first in Europe.

In ab medica since 1994, after having held various posts in sales, product management and commercial liability and having gained experience in USSC Autosuture (now TYCO) and Schneider (now Boston Scientific).
The sectors in which he has focused on most in the last 10 years are minimally invasive surgery, robotic surgery and radiosurgery in all their applications, thanks to continuous collaboration with the best American start-ups, including Origin Medsystems, Intuitive Surgical and Accuray. While a life-long motorbike enthusiast, he has recently returned to a great passion of his youth: competitive sailing.
Luigia BarbieriFinancial Director
After a career of about 15 years in some medium-sized companies, leaders in their sectors, such as the Istituto delle Vitamine Spa (Roche group) and Tessitura Majocchi Spa, she began working in ab medica in 1986. Here she has developed her experience in various business sectors and in positions of increasing responsibility. In her leisure time she enjoys the mountains, trekking and cross-country skiing.
Francesca CerrutiMarketing & Communication Director
After important training experience in the USA in leading manufacturers of minimally invasive robot technology, she joined ab medica in 2006 as an operating theatre clinical specialist, training people on the use and characteristics of the company’s products.
Since 2010 she has been in the Marketing Department, dealing with the development of business strategies, brand image, event organization, corporate marketing and product marketing.
She likes working in a team and is a strong upholder of the corporate group spirit, which she promotes through her particular attention to the management of human resources.
A workaholic and always on the go, she loves travelling the world.
